I just wish Walker and his girlfriend would move back to California. They probably don't want them either!

This comment is posted here because it is inaccurate. The shoreline permit applies the area 200 feet from the shoreline. The area refered to here is very far away and will not impact shoreline use. EPA is taking action to address the issue. It is unrelated to the shoreline permit. To imply otherwise is inaccurate and inflamatory.Recieved on Ruston Home on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 11:18 PM More developments that could affect the shoreline issue: Very high levels of lead and arsenic have been found by Tacoma on Ruston Way around the Ruston/Tacoma tunnel area. Karen, you can provide the link below for people to read the Tacoma City Council report: cms.cityoftacoma.org/cityclerk/Files/CityCouncil/CMOWeeklyReport/2009/WklyReport20090820.pdf

Ruston shoreline permit final decision: What part of NO don't you bullies understand? Mom and Dad had to have taught you that NO = NO.

have you decided to keep it quiet about the dangerously large amounts of lead and arsenic found on Ruston way near the tunnel that was the subject in the Tacoma city council meeting?

There has been metals in this soil for a decades. EPA and others have known about it for many, many years. The approved clean up plans address it. This is nothing new and should not be used as a political pawn in a shoreline permit. Disagree on the issues, don't make up scare tactics to try to get your way. I won't be allowing comments with this kind of inaccuracies on the Ruston Home blog.

Good reasons for appealing the shoreline permit. So far, Karen has been asked more than once, but won't print in this blog a link to the Tacoma City Council meeting of Aug 20. Arsenic and lead in dangerous levels around Ruston Way near the tunnel, have been documented by City staff. Word is getting around, anyway, even without Karen sharing the link.

When someone is an Asarco employee and writes a blog, we guess that she doesn't dare put anything negative that would possibly be damaging to the company and to Pt Ruston. But there is something real that won't go away, the highly concentrated amounts of arsenic and lead recently found in the soil at the edge of Ruston and in Tacoma.

Walker,Carpio, and Schorder.Maybe they should move to the 52-5300 block of Pearl Street.Nothing is ever going to change in that area.
Just a thought.
