More amusement at second Anonymous' comments. Is the Ruston fire department really from Valhalla, not Planet Earth? You'd think so from the commenter's post. Why has Tacoma actually put out the Ruston fires rather than Ruston f.d. for the past ten years?

Behavioral psychologist? That's a good one, definitely a fit for the Don's Market office space. Great idea.

I just read a comment about Ruston's fire department which you didn't allow to be posted on Ruston Home but instead shifted over to Free Ruston. Can't figure out why you did that when the question seems a valid one: why, if the response time stats posted by Anon #2 are true, has Tacoma Fire Dept put out most or all of the fires in Ruston for the past decade? Shouldn't you have posted it here and shouldn't there be a reasoned response offered by Ruston FD?

It is not true that Tacoma Fire has put out the recent fires in Ruston. There have been some problems with the dispatch system identified (where Tacoma was dispatched instead of Ruston to a fire in Ruston), but those problems have been corrected. The last major fire on 49th street was handled by Ruston with back up by Tacoma. In the event of a major fire, Tacoma will likely be called for help under our mutual aid agreement. In Tacoma, a structure fire would mean calling out two units as well.
The response times are documented and verified by other agencies. Its not something that can be faked. I moved these comments to this site because they make false statements about who is responding to fire calls in Ruston.

What Karen isn't saying is that the Ruston "Fire" Department couldn't even get the engine started on the fire truck on one occasion. Another time, they were "first" on the scene but had no firefighting equipment and had to just stand and watch. On still another occasion, Tacoma Fire Department was told to leave and then frantically called back. Everyone in town is at risk because of the use of a volunteer department. Services and protection would be much higher with the Tacoma Fire Department but it will probably take a loss of life to get certain people to admit it and take action.
Yes, I know Karen will refer to the "Fire Study Report" but show it to a professional firefighter and they will shake their head and wonder how anyone with a concern for public safety could have written it.

Well at least one or more of the morons are back. It's been kinda quite around here. We finally have a Mayor and council that can get things done. It must just eat at these losers that want Ruston to fail.
